To highlight the 40th anniversary of Development & Peace, a special "Birthday Party" was held on Wednesday, May 9th in the Church Hall.  The Parishioners were invited to celebrate the work of D & P and their participation through the genererous contibutions for programmes  such as Share Lent.

The party began with a very meaningful Prayer Service.  "The Gift of Solidarity"  video provided information and generated a good discussion.  Those present decided to also view, "Brazil: Landless Rural Workers Movement" and more discussion followed.

After the discussion, delicious cake and other goodies were enjoyed with coffee and "friendly chatter".

Copies of  the "Share Lent 2007" booklet  were available for those who wanted further information.  This publication contains information on various projects in different countries that have been part of the work of Development and Peace. Since this year is the 40th anniversary, there is also historical information.  The publication was made available in the foyer of the Church for those who were  unable to participate in the party.
